Description
In the heart of Gabon's capital Libreville, the International Centre for Bantu Civilisations (Ciciba), designed to showcase African culture, is now occupied by hundreds of squatting families. The Ciciba project got underway in the 1980s but a lack of funds meant the project never came to fruition. The first squatters moved in in 2013 and now, more than 2000 inhabitants live within the buildings alongside crumbling walls, exposed electrics and piles of rubbish. IMAGES AND SOUNDBITES
