Description
The Vatican lights up the Christmas tree and Nativity scene set up on St. Peter's Square for Christmas 2021. Under heavy rain, people waited to see the illumination while the official lighting ceremony was held inside the Paul VI Hall, where Pope Francis presides his weekly audiences. The Nativity scene, made of more than 30 pieces created by Peruvian artists, was unveiled in the morning. The majestic spruce of about 28 metres comes from Andalo, in the northern region of Trentino in Italy. IMAGES
