The US federal government has opened three new Covid-19 testing sites in Queens, New York to supplement the 119 city-run locations already open, as a surge of new cases driven by the highly infectious Omicron variant threaten holiday plans. Additionally, the city government is distributing 2,000 testing kits in each of the five boroughs. "This is a very large community, and I hope that the government is taking the necessary steps to make sure that these rapid tests are widely available whenever you need it," says New York City resident Jocelyn Antigua.
