Description
Residents of Ouagadougou react as a delegation of Community of West African States (ECOWAS) military officials arrives in the country, with some saying ECOWAS is "not legitimate" or not welcome. Following similar developments in Mali and Niger, Burkina Faso has been caught up in a spiral of violence attributed to armed jihadist groups, affiliated to al-Qaeda and the Islamic State group, which have killed more than 2,000 people and forced at least 1.5 million to flee their homes. The delegation is composed of representatives from Benin, Togo and Ghana, and is led by ECOWAS peace and security commissioner Francis Behanzin of Benin. IMAGES AND SOUNDBITES
