Oscar-winning director Ryusuke Hamaguchi says he "fundamentally" didn't believe he stood a chance for the Academy Awards, after his acclaimed arthouse film "Drive My Car" grabbed the best international feature in Hollywood last month. He said he will keep in minds the advice to "stay sane" from fellow Oscar laureate Chole Zhao. "Drive My Car" became the fifth Japanese film to win the award, which used to be known as best foreign language film, with the last one being Yojiro Takita's "Okuribito" (Departures) in 2009.
