The EU throws open the doors of its core institutions ahead of Europe Day celebrations on Monday, May 9. The day marks the 72nd anniversary of the Schuman declaration, which proposed the creation of a pan-European trade arrangement and is widely recognised as the first step on the path towards European integration.
