Cuba is experiencing a wave of migration exacerbated by increasingly frequent departures by sea, as in times of yore. On Holy Thursday, thirteen residents of a village in western Cuba set out to sea on a wooden raft with six oars; by the second day of the voyage they ran out of food and by the fourth they thought they would die after being battered by bad weather.
