On the slopes of a hilly area in Ecuador, about 30 police officers search vehicles for drugs and weapons. This area has long been targeted by drug traffickers who seek out young recruits, aged between 13 and 18, to sell drugs. Inside the community, when police on horseback seize a man in a cap, residents follow events out of the corner of their eyes, without leaving their homes or talking openly about what they have seen.
