The Sarajevo Film Festival, born in the siege of the Bosnian capital in the 1990s, opens with a thought for Ukraine, with Ukrainian director Sergei Loznitsa awarded the Heart of Honor of Sarajevo, a special prize for his extraordinary contribution to the art of film. The same award was also given to the Swedish director Ruben Östlund, who won his second Palme d'Or at the last Cannes Film Festival in May for his movie "Triangle of Sadness".
