Nancy Pelosi, Speaker of the US House of Representatives, visited Armenia and met with President of the Armenian National Assembly Alen Simonyan, before giving a speech in front of experts at Cafesjian cultural center. She is the highest-ranking US government official ever to visit Armenia. Hundreds of Armenians gathered in front of the center to greet Pelosi and to protest Armenia's membership in the Russia-led CSTO military alliance.
