Giuseppe Cimarosa is the son of the first cousin of arrested mafia boss Matteo Messina Denaro. When his father Lorenzo Cimarosa, under arrest, decided to cooperate with investigators, Giuseppe, his brother and his mother refused to enter a protection programme, remaining in Castelvetrano in the west of Sicily.
