Description
Hundreds of bullfighting fans jump in the ring where a bull charges at them, chasing in all directions. This is the scene every year at the 'Corraleja', an annual amateur bullfighting festival in the Colombian Caribbean. Unlike in Spanish bullfights, the bulls are not killed in the bloody battle, and the general public can participate in the informal affair. But now the Corraleja's future may be under threat, as politicians from the left and environmentalist parties seek to ban the practice due to animal welfare concerns. IMAGES AND SOUNDBITES
