Thirty seven years after world´s bigggest nuclear disaster, Ukraine marks the Chernobyl anniversary by laying flowers at the Monument to the Liquidators and giving awards to nuclear plant workers. On the first day of Russia's invasion on February 24, 2022, Russian troops took over Chernobyl after entering from Belarus. Their forces spent the next month at the power plant before withdrawing.
