Description
A man severely disabled by Parkinson's disease is able to walk almost normally again, thanks to electrodes implanted in his spinal cord. The medical first has been achieved by Swiss researchers in Lausanne, a team who had previously succeeded in helping those with paralysis walk again. "I can go to the library, I can go to the swimming pool, alone, whereas before there was no point" says Marc, the 62-year-old patient. IMAGES AND SOUNDBITES
