Description
Hanging three metres from the ground, the antique book box of a Parisian bookseller sways gently, torn from the Quai de Seine by a large lorry crane. Workers from the Paris city council dismantled four of the capital's iconic book boxes Friday night, as a feasibility test ahead of the Olympic Games.
For safety reasons, the Paris Prefecture of Police is calling for the dismantling of nearly 600 of the 900 boxes before the Olympic opening ceremony on 26 July 2024, which will take place on the river. IMAGES AND SOUNDBITES
