Description
During a press conference with German Chancellor Olaf Scholz in Berlin organised during the G20 Compact with Africa conference, African Union Chair Azali Assoumani says that Israel's ongoing bombardment of the Gaza Strip is creating "extremism" by targeting hospitals and children, adding that "as long as there are not two states, as the United Nations has called for, there will be no peace in this region." For his part, African Union Commission Chair Moussa Faki Mahamat defends continued Chinese investment in the continent, telling both Scholz and the press that "maybe the Chinese have been bolder, maybe they have more vision, and maybe they've put their faith in Africa's potential."
