Description
On the first day of trial in France, victims' families are calling Monique Olivier's regrets lacking sincerity. Olivier is the widow of French serial killer Fourniret and is standing accused of aiding and abetting in the kidnapping and murder of three girls in northern France. Her late husband Michel Fourniret known as the "Ogre of the Ardennes", was charged with abduction, rape and murder in the cases but died in 2021, aged 79, before he could be brought to trial.
His victims included a 9-year-old girl on her way back from school, a mentally disabled 18-year-old and a 20-year-old British woman whose body is the only one that was found.
