Description
Raed Abou Ida stands at the highest point in Rafah, south of Gaza, to receive an internet signal and communicate with his relatives. Rafah residents are forced to walk long distances every day to reach this point near the Egyptian border to use the internet via an electronic SIM card (eSIM). Internet services are starting to return to the besieged Gaza Strip after a week-long blackout, according to the telecom operator Paltel. IMAGES AND SOUNDBITES
