Description
Indian authorities have deployed paramilitary soldiers and policemen, and sealed off a plot of land, days after bulldozers knocked down a centuries-old mosque in the Indian capital during a demolition drive to remove "illegal" structures from a forest reserve.
The Masjid Akhonji and an adjacent Islamic seminary for 22 students in the Mehrauli area of the city were demolished in the early hours of Tuesday, with caretakers saying the mosque was around 600 years old. IMAGES
