Description
Portugal marks 50 years since the military coup that ended decades of dictatorship in the country with a military parade in Lisbon. The Carnation Revolution of April 25, 1974 also brought to a close 13 years of colonial wars being fought in Angola, Mozambique and Guinnea-Bissau. "It is a date synonymous with freedom and democracy" says Graca Nascimentom, attending the parade. IMAGES AND SOUNDBITES
