Set in the north-east of Brazil, 'Motel Destino' is a dark thriller in which "characters with dubious morals, helpless characters and characters who come together to create a better situation for themselves" intermingle at the motel. Director Karim Ainouz makes no excuses for the many sex scenes, declaring : "You can't talk about life without talking about sex, after all, it's perhaps the best thing in the world."
