Primary school pupils are returning to school in Noumea after a five-week closure as New Caledonia begins a "gradual return" to normality after a month of unrest that left nine people dead in the French South Pacific archipelago. "We have not yet found a solution for all our students" at the Petro Attiti secondary school, which was burnt down during the riots, says Isabelle Champmoreau, the government vice-president in charge of education.
