Description
Some Ndjamena residents say they are lucky to have escaped their homes after an overnight deadly blaze at a nearby army ammunitions depot. Among them Suleman Youssouf, who says just after he and his family left their home, shells fell on his house destroying it. "The state should think about relocating this kind of ammunition depot away from the city, away from the population," he says. According to the government, the incident has left at least nine people dead and 46 injured, with fears that the toll could rise.
