Thousands of protesters gather in the city of Jableh, in Latakia province, after a video circulated purportedly showing the burning of an Alawite shrine in northern Syria. The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights said a video that began circulating earlier Wednesday showed "an attack by fighters" that had previously taken place on the shrine in the Maysaloon area of Syria's second city, Aleppo.
