Description
Thousands gather in the Turkish town of Selcuk to watch the 43rd edition of the ‘Efes Selcuk Camel Wrestling Festival’. 120 camels competed in the festival this year, which has its roots in the nomadic culture of Turkey. “I have been coming here since I was around 8 years old. I have been involved in camel breeding since I was little and I gave my heart to camel culture”, says 23-year-old camel owner Arif Akbulut. Spectators gathered on a hill round the arena enjoy food, drink, dancing and music while they watch the animals. IMAGES AND SOUNDBITES
