Description
Ravaged by drought, the marshes and lagoons of the Donana natural park in southern Spain lost much of their water reserves. But heavy rains in March, which was the wettest since records began in the province of Huelva, have restored water reserves and, with it, the hope for a better future for the local fauna and flora. "The marsh as it is this year is an exceptional situation," says Juan Pedro Castellano Dominguez, director of Donana natural area. IMAGES AND SOUNDBITES
