Description
Artist Janel Pahl is making art for the 42 annual "Wild Arts Festival" to fundraise for Portland Audubon. "People love birds. They really love birds.”
Janel and over 60 other artists are at the PSU Viking Pavilion with art and books for sale that are inspired by nature, wildlife or environmental sustainability.
One of 23 authors, Marina Richie’s book about the OR native Belted Kingfisher just won a national award. "Groups like Portland Audubon have done an amazing job cultivating new interest in birds. Always connecting to habitat protection."
Ex Dir Stuart Wells says that the 120 year old Portland Audubon protects habitat, guides educational hikes and operates the Care Center. "Even though they're bringing injured animals in, our staff are helping people understand their interaction between wildlife and humans."
