Description
A Portland theatre company brings the “double, double, toil and trouble” to Halloween with Shakespeare's spookiest play.
On the Sunday before Halloween, Speculative Drama will stage “Upon This Blasted Heath: A One-Hour Macbeth.” Director Myrrh Larsen said it’s the perfect play for the day.
"It deals directly with prophecy, with witchcraft and magic, and the sort of ability to see beyond the material world," said Larsen.
The free performance happens outside. The audience will join the actors on a hike to a secret location. They even may get a chance to take part in the play.
Megan Skye Hale plays lady Macbeth. "There are audience members who even represent some of the characters. With consent, of course."
