Description
After reaching the low 90s yesterday, a bit of a cool down today. We (briefly) drop down into the mid-80s in Denver with another slight chance for an isolated gusty thundershower this evening. Most areas will stay dry, but similar to last night in downtown Denver, there could be a stray gusty downpour or two.
Across the Eastern Plains, there is also a chance for some showers and storms this afternoon, especially south of I-70. The severe weather threat is very low for the southeastern plains today.
Tonight, you might need to break out a longer sleeve sweater or hoodie for the first time this season! Lows drop into the low 50s in Denver, so it'll be a bit crisp late this evening and early tomorrow morning.
Our brief cooldown won't last, though: Temperatures bump back into the upper 80s for Friday, and we'll round out August in the low 90s on Saturday. It looks dry across most of the state for both days, with a very isolated storm possible in our southern mountains and plains. Even here, most should stay dry.
