Description
Benin is recovering a symbol of its royal heritage as Finland officially returns a royal wooden stool which now completes the royal collection of Abomey. The handover took place at the presidential palace in Cotonou, in the presence of senior Benin officials and a Finnish delegation. "This is the end of the story, and we're now looking ahead to other projects involving the return and circulation of these objects," says Jean-Michel Abimbola, Benin's Minister of Culture. "Above all, we now have other cultural cooperation projects with our partner Finland." IMAGES AND SOUNDBITES
