The major fire that broke out in the Paimpont forest in Brittany, destroying around a hundred hectares of vegetation, was contained by the end of the evening.
"With both the cooler weather and the humidity that will be falling... I think it will be completely under control by tomorrow morning," says the French fire brigade commander Lieutenant-colonel Patrice Fénéon, adding that a total of 370 firefighters and 140 vehicles have been deployed.
