A "masterpiece of intimacy" by French painter Pierre-Auguste Renoir, also known as Auguste Renoir, portraying his son Jean Renoir and his nanny Gabrielle Renard, was unveiled on Thursday in Paris at Hôtel Drouot, where it is set to be auctioned on 25 November. The oil painting, Child with Toys - Gabrielle and the Artist's Son, Jean, measuring 54 x 65 cm and in pristine condition, "is estimated to fetch 1.5 million euros," says Christophe Joron-Derem, the auctioneer overseeing the sale.
