Description
A small but mighty museum that celebrates Lady Liberty in Indianapolis is on the move.
Its new mission at a new location plans to inspire, too, with not only the hundreds of items on display but also expanded programming for young people.
For six years, the tiny space stuffed with kitschy collectibles at 10th and Oxford streets has beckoned tourists by torchlight.
Fifty cents admission gets you a look at a wealth of Americana inside: More than 700 Statue of Liberty-themed memorabilia, from toothbrush holders, spoons and stamps to socks, Barbies, Legos and lawn sprinklers.
But recently, when owner Tim Harmon made the decision for health reasons to close, lock up and liquidate, one of his visitors said not so fast.
