Your doctor says you need a test, procedure or certain drug, but in order for it to be covered by your insurance, the insurance company has to first sign off on it.
Lawmakers in the Senate's Health and Provider Services Committee heard about a proposed bill Wednesday, Jan. 22 – Senate Bill 480 – that would put restrictions on when insurance companies could require those prior authorizations before covering a patient's care.
