Description
AT&T is offering a reward of up to $5,000 for information on copper thefts in central Indiana.
The reward is being offered for "specific and detailed" information that results in a conviction on "recent incidents of thefts and vandalism of critical telecommunications infrastructure in Brown, Marion and Shelby" counties.
Specifically, the company said the thefts and vandalism involved telecommunications copper cable, as well as the attempted sale or purchase of stolen copper cable.
“Copper theft often damages our critical communications infrastructure, which can cause network outages that leave our customers without the ability to connect,” AT&T Indiana President Bill Soards said in a statement. “Maintaining high-quality service is a top priority, and we’re working closely with law enforcement to investigate any incidents.”
