The city of Indianapolis is clearing the way for demolition of what's been known for years as Jail I, which is the building next to the Julia M. Carson Transit Center, near Alabama and Maryland streets. For decades, it was used to house inmates, but that changed two years ago when the Criminal Justice Campus opened up.
