IMPD is investigating after a man was found fatally shot Wednesday morning on the near northeast side of Indianapolis. Police responded to a report of a person down at East 21st and Sheldon streets, near Dr. Andrew J. Brown and Hillside avenues, shortly before 10:30 a.m. Oct. 2. Officers arrived and found a victim "with injuries consisted with trauma," police said. Medics arrived and pronounced the person dead. In an update, an IMPD spokesperson said the victim, believed to be a man, was found with a gunshot wound. Shell casings were found at the scene. The man was found along a small roadway, and the spokesperson said it wasn't clear how long he had been there.
