Description
First federal Monsanto trial 'about failure to warn': lawyer The lawyer for a plaintiff in the first federal trial against the controversial Roundup weed killer says, "this case is about failure to warn." Roundup is a brand owned by German chemical and pharmaceutical giant Bayer after its purchase of US-based Monsanto last year, who jurors unanimously found acted with "malice", saying its weed killers Roundup and Ranger Pro contributed "substantially" to a groundskeeper's terminal illness. Now another plaintiff, Edwin Hardeman, is accusing Roundup of contributing to his cancer, which is the same kind as the previous plaintiff. IMAGES AND SOUNDBITES
