Description
Art blooms in gritty Dakar neighbourhood It's a museum visit unlike any other, where a rollerblading guide leads you between vibrant murals in between the otherwise dull walls of the working-class neighbourhood of Medina, in Senegal's capital Dakar. Mamadou Boye Diallo, who goes by "Modboye," leads tourists around of this "open-air museum," of which he is both the guardian and an art broker of sorts. For the last ten years, he has been asking artists from Senegal and further afield to come and paint the walls of Medina. IMAGES AND SOUNDBITES
