Description
A bonfire built from over 15,000 pallets sits on the Craigyhill estate in Northern Ireland ahead of the traditional 11th night bonfires. Believed to be the largest in the country, the bonfire will be lit by Protestant unionists in the annual commemoration of the victory of Protestant King William III of Orange against Catholic King James II at the battle of the Boyne on July 12, 1690. This year, it is topped with a European flag, as Protestant unionists feel betrayed by the Brexit agreement with the EU to regulate trade in Northern Ireland. IMAGES
