Description
The case of the "girl in the box" began in 1977 when Cameron Hooker kidnapped Colleen Stan, who was hitchhiking from Oregon to California. Hooker held her for seven years as a sex slave, keeping her in a wood box no bigger than a coffin under his bed for up to 23 hours a day, according to Record Searchlight archives.
Hooker was sentenced to 104 years in prison in 1985
