Excavations begin in a wood in the Ardennes region, in northeast France, to search for the body of Estelle Mouzin, a nine-year-old schoolgirl who was allegedly raped and killed in 2003 by the late serial killer Michel Fourniret. The search will be partly conducted in the presence of his ex-wife, Monique Olivier, and is due to last a week. Lawyers for the victim's family were checked by gendarmes as they went to the site.
