Description
Original script from July 8, 1955
Tonight Judy Garland opens her world premiere show at the Russ Auditorium. Channel 8's photographer went behind the scenes at the final rehearsal to bring you these films--the first TV pictures ever shown of Judy in dress rehearsal. The show is packed with fun, dancing, and music. The cast of 40 includes such names as Frank Fontaine, the Wiere Brothers, Jerry Gray and his orchestra and the Hi-Lo's. Judy, who is a perfectionist, spent many a long hour working every song over and over. This gal is a bundle of energy and always seems to have a kind word and a smile for everyone. Judy has come a long way since she played Dorothy in the Wizard of Oz. Last year she was nominated for an Oscar for A Star is Born. After seeing this show you'll know why she stays on top.
Extraordinary! Unfortunately there is no sound as is typical for tv news film.
