In Bangkok's Din Daeng neighbourhood, low-income housing is nestled among posh new apartment buildings close to the residence of Prime Minister Prayut Chan-O-Cha. It is also the main battleground for a hardcore group of young working-class protesters who call themselves "Thalugaz.” While the student protest movement that gripped Thailand last year with its demands for royal reform has largely died down, the Thalugaz protesters continue to fight near-nightly street battles with riot police.
