Rights groups in Kuala Lumpur submitted a memorandum to parliament in protest at the impending execution for drug trafficking of a Malaysian man with intellectual disabilities in Singapore. The city state "is committing a grave crime against humanity if it proceeds with this execution," says Brian Yap of the Anti-Death Penalty Asia Network. Nagaenthran K. Dharmalingam, sentenced to death in 2010 for trafficking heroin into Singapore, is due to be hanged on Wednesday next week.
