Description
Afghan horsemen on Sunday played in the grand final of the buzkashi championships. Buzkashi, meaning "dragging the goat" in Persian, is the country's traditional national sport, in which teams of horsemen fight for possession of - traditionally - a beheaded animal carcass.
The sport was banned as "immoral" when the Taliban first ruled from 1996 to 2001, but the hardline Islamists have decided to embrace buzkashi since returning to power in August. IMAGES AND SOUNDBITES
