Proposals to host refugees from Ukraine have resulted in more than 650,000 connections in one week on the official sponsorship platform, the Minister Delegate for Citizenship, Marlène Schiappa, says. She helped set up a monitoring committee charged with hosting displaced persons from Ukraine with associations of local elected representatives. But, she warns, "you can't improvise as a host". For his part, the Minister for Territorial Cohesion believes that "the solidarity of the associations of elected representatives is a demonstration that we are increasingly marginalising those who speak of hate".
