Description
A UK farmer says hundreds of tonnes of his beetroot crop this year is being left to rot after demand from his EU clients ground to a halt. Will Woodhall grows beetroot alongside cereals and spring onions on his Staffordshire farm, but says he will lose around 90,000 pounds worth of produce this season as he’s been told by his marketing agent, his EU clients no longer want raw food from the UK. Woodhall says he will try to turn the decomposing vegetables into compost and look to farm alternative crops. IMAGES AND SOUNDBITES
