US President Joe Biden will travel to Buffalo on Tuesday to "comfort the families" of 10 people who died when a white man carried out a mass shooting at a supermarket in a predominantly Black neighborhood of this city in New York state, White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre says in her first news briefing as Jen Psaki's successor. "I am obviously acutely aware that my presence at this podium represents a few firsts -- I am a Black, gay, immigrant woman, the first of all three of those to hold this position," Jean-Pierre adds.
