Description
The British Museum in London previews an exhibition called "Feminine power: the divine to the demonic", which explores feminine influence in world belief and mythological traditions around the globe, bringing together ancient sculptures, sacred artifacts and contemporary art to shed light on how femininity has been perceived from the ancient world to today. The exhibition, set to open to the public on Thursday, explores the embodiment of feminine power in deities, goddesses, demons, saints and other spiritual beings, and wants to "prompt thought beyond our own cultural constructs", according to its curator.
